A Marcos Request

There could probably be nothing more epic than shopping for literally hundreds of clothes
and shoes with the daughter of a former President of the Philippines.
Imee Marcos, eldest daughter of  Ferdinand Marcos and current Governor of Ilocos Norte, was sweet enough to invite me to pull-out garments with her, and actually take charge and take full responsibility of choosing the most fashionable pieces from 4 different local brands. I just couldn't stop smiling when she texted me about how she wants to know what I think, my stance on the choice of garments from Folded&Hung, Karimadon, Wade, and Jellybean she's bringing to sunshine city."Losyang na my taste, you do it na. Take charge.", ending her overwhelming message.

Focusing on the reorganization, livelihood opportunities, and the progress of the Ilocanos during her first year in office, she now plans to transform Laoag into a little little Greenbelt of the North, Ilocano-style! We only have about 3 weeks to bring Manila fashion to the province so the preparations are going a bit crazy.  Apart from entrusting me with this little assignment, I also got hired as the in-house stylist so I'd be traveling to Ilocos more often this time! Pretty stoked here, I kinda miss doing this. Haven't really been into the world of fashion again since after I finished with fashion school and got back from my exchange semester abroad. It all came unexpecdectly; let's see how this goes.

and so here are some photos from our little business trip:

Only ordered limited pieces per size, so you guys better score these babies as soon as we open! How very Jeffrey Campbell, right?

From style, to the materials, to the number of pieces of garments per color, per size - it was crazier than I thought it would be.

I remember she would say"bakla ka talaga!" whenever I dance around the stores
while I carry gazillion of clothes on my left hand and shoes on my right hahahahaha

In her words, "these shoes are so bongga!"

She really listens when I have something to say, even the littlest comments.

3rd stop! Hahaha look how stressed we seemed. 3pm and still haven't eaten!

sporting Folded & Hung shades while she copies my ever-famous pout hahaha kulit!
we keep getting more and more lurkers by the minute cause we were so gulo. hehe

Humble as she is, she smiles back to everyone who would greet her
and take paparazzi shots of her.

Currently out of the country, she left a huge bulk of work to me - from talking to the managers, finalizing the orders, doing the costings, looking for fashionable tinderas, and so on. Sobrang ka-pressure but it is overwhelming. I mean, really, who gets THIS privileged to be given such task by Imee Marcos herself to somehow take over the entire merchandising aspect of this little project of hers? She requests that I go to Ilocos as early as this weekend to finalize the interiors of the store, style the mannequins, and fill up the racks with our chic garments. Aaah exciting!  I remember her saying, "You graduate na kasi so you take charge of all these! Hindi ito liinya ng Governor 'no".

After all the walking and non-stop shopping, we finally ended a day with
a little pizza party of our own, her treat :)
